Article's tools:

The capital will Sept. 19-27 host Warsaw Autumn, one of the best-known festivals in Poland. This is one of the biggest calendar events for composers, performers and, above all, for fans of contemporary music. Concert venues include the National Philharmonic, 10 Sienkiewicza St.; Uniwersytet Muzyczny, 2 Okólnik St.; the Lutheran Church, 76a Solidarno¶ci Ave.; and the Fabryka Trzciny arts center, 14 Otwocka St.

This year's festival will focus on music from Spain, Portugal and Latin America. Cantor Arcángel, one of the most famous flamenco singers, will perform in the inaugural concert. Among festival stars will be Mauricio Sotelo and Jose Maria Sánchez-Verdú, who create an original combination of modern sounds with traditional flamenco, Arabic and Jewish music.

Warsaw will also welcome the Radio and Television Orchestra from Madrid under the baton of Arturo Tamayo; and bands Barcelona 216 and Plural from Madrid and Sond' Ar-te Electric from Lisbon.
