Moto-Cross Daredevils Compete

Article's tools:

The world's best freestyle moto-cross riders will compete in the finals of the globally renowned Red Bull X-Fighters championships at one of Poland's biggest stadiums, the Stadion X-lecia in Warsaw, Sept. 6. The Red Bull X-Fighters Super Session in Warsaw will be the culmination of this year's championships after qualifying rounds in Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Fort Worth in the United States, Madrid in Spain, and Wuppertal in Germany.

Warsaw will host the biggest moto-cross stars in the world, including Travis Pastrana, Mat Rebeaud, Robby Maddison, Ronny Renner, Andre Villa, Jeremy Stenberg, and Jeremy Luska. Making his debut at championships of this caliber will be Polish rider Bartek Ogłaza.

The Red Bull X-Fighters championships will be the first sporting event in almost 20 years to be held at the Stadion X-lecia, an architectural colossus on the east bank of the Vistula river. Polish and foreign tourists may find this fact somewhat surprising, but since the end of communism in 1989 the stadium has fallen into ruin. Previously it was the symbol of communist Poland and the venue for many sporting and social events.
The Red Bull X-Fighters championship finals are on Sept. 6 in the Stadion X-lecia on Zieleniecka Avenue by the Rondo Waszyngtona traffic circle in Warsaw. Tickets cost zl.89, 129 and 159 and are available from www.ticketpro.pl, EMPiK and Media Markt.
