Rockwool Polska launched a zl.250-million production line for mineral wool at its factory in Małkinia, eastern Poland, in early September. The new line, the seventh in the plant, will double the factory's capacity, allowing Rockwool to meet growing demand for mineral wool insulation materials in Poland and countries across its eastern border, executives said. The company plans to export most of its output from Małkinia to Belarus, Ukraine, Russia and the Baltic states, said Andrzej Kielar, chairman of the group's Polish subsidiary Rockwool Polska.

The new production line has created 70 jobs at the factory itself and another 100 in companies providing services to the plant.

Rockwool Polska is part of the Danish corporation Rockwool International, a global leader in the mineral wool insulation market. Since it began operating in Poland 15 years ago, Rockwool has invested more than zl.800 million here, building new production facilities and environmental protection systems. Rockwool's two Polish factories, in Małkinia and Cigacice in the southwest, are considered to be the group's most efficient factories worldwide.
