Apartment buyers in Warsaw are especially interested in two- and three-room apartments, according to a market report by the Money Expert service. Studios are less popular and mainly attract young people who are buying their first apartment or want to move to a better address.

According to Polish real estate services company Emmerson, ¦ródmie¶cie, Mokotów and Ursynów are the most popular districts in Warsaw, with the highest prices charged for apartments close to the Metro line.

According to Money Expert, residential estates in Warsaw's suburbs are attracting buyers with lower prices and locations away from the big-city bustle.

Most buyers take out mortgage loans, often denominated in Swiss francs and covering100 percent of the property's value, Money Expert says. However, banks are tightening their lending policies in the wake of the recent credit crunch in the United States.
