International real estate investor and developer Von der Heyden Group has become a majority shareholder in IBB Hotels, a Spain-based hotel operator active in Spain, Poland, and Germany. Von der Heyden Group now holds 70 percent of IBB Hotels.

Von der Heyden Group bought 25.5 percent of IBB Hotels in 2001, and then increased its stake to 40 percent in 2005 and 50 percent in 2007. Recently it purchased a further 20 percent of the hotel chain.

IBB Hotels was established in 1992 in Minorca. In 2002 it was the first Spanish hotel operator to appear on the Polish market. Its first hotel here was the four-star IBB Grand Hotel Lublinianka in the eastern city of Lublin. The company also runs the IBB Andersia Hotel in Poznań, western Poland, and will soon open the IBB Hotel Gdańsk in a prestigious location on Długi Targ Street in the coastal city of Gdańsk.
