Acclaimed Catalonian conductor Ernest Martínez Izquierdo will conduct symphony concerts at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw Oct. 10 and 11.

Born in Barcelona, Martínez Izquierdo started his career in music in the Barcelona 216 orchestra, which specialized in contemporary chamber music. In 1987, he joined the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE). He was the chief conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona y Nacional de Catalunya (2002-2006) and Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra "Pablo Sarasate."

In Warsaw, Martínez Izquierdo will be accompanied by Portuguese pianist Artur Pizzaro and musicians from the National philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. The concert features concierto heroico for piano and orchestra by Joaquín Rodrigo; Concierto de aranjuez for guitar and orchestra; and Fourth Symphony in F Minor op. 26 by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
