Warsaw Film Festival

The 24th Warsaw Film Festival begins Oct. 10 and will continue until Oct. 19, featuring 130 international feature films and more than 80 shorts.

Every year a growing number of movies shown at the festival are later distributed in theaters, on DVD and television, according to the festival's director Stefan Laudyn.

Eleven festival entries have been nominated for the European Film Award. These are:
Black Ice, directed by Petri Kotwica, Finland
Boogie, directed by Radu Muntean, Romania
Cloud 9, directed by Andreas Dresen, Germany
Eden, directed by Declan Recks, Ireland
Happy-Go-Lucky, directed by Mike Leigh, Britain
It's Hard to Be Nice, directed by Srdjan Vuletic, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The King of Ping Pong, directed by Jens Jonsson, Sweden
Lemon Tree, directed by Eran Riklis, Israel/Germany/France
Love and Other Crimes, directed by Stefan Arsenijevic, Germany/Serbia
Revanche, directed by Götz Spielmann, Austria
Waltz with Bashir, directed by Ari Folman, Israel/France/Germany

Festival theaters:
Kinoteka Multiplex(five screens), Palace of Culture and Science (southern entrance)

Multikino Złote Tarasy (four screens), 59 Złota St.

Tickets are available during the festival at Kinoteka Multiplex and Multikino Złote Tarasy.

Prices: zl.10 for screenings at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., zl.15 for screenings at 4 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
