Mayland to Open New Retail Centers
French developer Mayland Real Estate is preparing to open a new shopping center in Poland. The center is called Pogoria and is located in D±browa Górnicza in the south of the country.

Pogoria is the third and latest project completed by Mayland in Poland this year, after Karolinka in the southern city of Opole, and Jantar in the northern city of Słupsk.

In the next few years, Mayland wants to open more shopping centers in Poland, at a rate of three or four a year until 2011.

Next year Mayland will start work on the Aquabella shopping center in the northwestern city of Piła. The center will be located on Zwi±zku Walki Młodych Street by the Gwda River.

Mayland plans to build similar centers in Cracow, Bielsko-Biała, Przemy¶l, and Szczecin.

The city of Rzeszów in the southeast will see the development of a retail, residential and recreation center on Lubelska Street. The center will consist of a hypermarket, multiplex cinema, karting track, restaurant, offices and residential space.

The Jantar center in Słupsk, opened in September, will be expanded, and Karolinka in Opole will see the addition of a retail park including an interior decoration store.

Dutch Developer Enters Poland
The Redema Group from the Netherlands has entered the Polish commercial real estate market by acquiring land for the construction of Galeria Vita, a retail center in Ostrów Wielkopolski on Poznańska and Dembińskiego streets. This is the first step in the company's expansion into Central Europe and Turkey. Before this, Redema built shopping centers and residential real estate in countries including Belgium, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and the Netherlands.

Redema has announced that Ostrów Wielkopolski will not be its only project in Poland. The developer is seeking real estate in towns of up to 100,000 residents.

Galeria Vita will be a modern project with 32,000 sq m of retail space and parking for 1,000 cars. The center will include a DIY hypermarket, a groceries supermarket, a multiplex movie theater and a gallery with over 100 stores. The opening is planned for 2010.
