The State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw is opening The Usual and the Unusual: Fascinating Collections exhibition Oct. 23 to usher in a series of events marking the institution's 120 years on Poland's cultural scene.

The exhibition shows the diversity of the museum's collections and how they have developed. It also shows how the institution was founded thanks to the passion and engagement of many individuals, including museologists, researchers, travelers, collectors, and donors.

The museum's collections include both simple and ordinary objects and exhibits that testify to the manifold dimensions of Polish culture.
