Ethnographic Museum Revamp
October 29, 2008
Article's tools:

The State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw has a new interior arrangement after months of renovating and adapting. The museum's permanent exhibitions have been open to the public since Oct. 6.

These are devoted to Africa, Australia and Oceania, Polish folk art and more. The main hall has also been refurbished with repainted walls, renovated marble, new seating, a modernized ticket booth and a new information desk to replace what used to be the watchman's box. Director Adam Czyżewski ordered the revamp to mark the museum's 120th anniversary. An exhibition titled The Usual and the Unusual. Fascinating Collections of Both Polish and Exotic Items From Far Corners of the Globe opened Oct. 23.

State Ethnographic Museum, 1 Kredytowa St., Warsaw
Open: Tue., Thu. and Fri. 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Wed. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (free admission), Sat.-Sun. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
