Pop Meets Classical at Festival

The Fabryka Trzciny arts center and the Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw are hosting the fifth Kwartesencja Festival Nov. 5-9. The festival involves unique projects by stars of popular and alternative music and philharmonic musicians working together.

The festival was founded by the classical Royal String Quartet. The four young musicians have performed with many artists, including Angela Hewitt, Smolik, Kwartet ¦l±ski, Mark Padmore, DJ Lenar, Martin Frost and Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa. This year's special guest is singer Kayah. At the festival's joint concerts, you can hear Kayah's hits in arrangements for violin, viola and cello.

Stephen Kovacevich, a world-famous pianist and conductor who is considered one of the best interpreters of classical music, will also perform. The sensational, vigorous Kwadrofonik band will play a blend of classical and folk music.
