Nathalie Depetro, director of MIPIM Horizons, an international real estate fair organized by the Reed MIDEM company, talks to the Voice.

Just what is MIPIM Horizons?
MIPIM Horizons is an international property market dedicated to fast growing regions that will take place Dec. 2-4, 2008 in the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

Based on the idea of the MIPIM international property market, MIPIM Horizons will focus on Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia, Africa, Turkey, the Middle East and Latin American markets, which have become increasingly appealing to international investors looking for information and business opportunities allowing them to expand and diversify their portfolios.

The event will highlight the huge range of business opportunities available in all these regions mainly in residential, hotel and tourism, logistics and commercial real estate, and will help investors establish partnerships and acquire reliable and actionable knowledge of local market conditions.

MIPIM Horizons will host a series of special events and a number of special guests, among them the minister of economic development of Montenegro, Branimir Gvozdenovic; the Moroccan minister of housing, urban affairs and land planning, Ahmed Taoufiq Héjira; the minister of economic development of the city of Buenos Aires, Francisco Cabrera; and the mayor of the Ukrainian city of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyy.

Why has Reed MIDEM decided to launch a new property show?
The idea to create this second annual meeting aside from MIPIM was driven by the demand of the international investment community. The boom in fast growing territories is so huge that it offers a worldwide range of investment opportunities that request a market of their own. International investors are looking for information and business opportunities regarding the real estate markets of fast growing regions. They wish to gain an insight about the best investment opportunities in these territories and to be provided with key factors that will help them penetrate these specific markets. MIPIM Horizons is a dedicated and informative event that is specifically intended for investors seeking investment opportunities in these target regions.

MIPIM Horizons has been specifically conceived to tear down all the entrance barriers and will offer insights and valuable information for its clients through its gold-standard conference program, with over 150 conferences, workshops, geographical, financial and legal focal points, "speed matching sessions," and a closed-door "Leadership Summit," which will enable international investors to familiarize themselves with the specific features of these new markets and show them how to prospect these territories.

What will distinguish MIPIM Horizons from other real estate exhibitions, particularly MIPIM?
MIPIM is the global real estate event of the year focused on office and urban development. MIPIM Horizons will feature these sectors but will also be open to tourism and residential property development, as these segments are particularly vibrant in the fast growing territories. In comparison to other trade fairs in Europe and the rest of the world, MIPIM Horizons will be a multi-regional event focusing on the world's regions presenting the greatest growth potential in the coming years. MIPIM Horizons is a unique global meeting opportunity for international investors seeking investment opportunities in fast growing regions and countries.

What is your target audience?
A total of 4,000 square meters of exhibition space will be dedicated to Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Eastern Europe-notably Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, and Ukraine-and also to the Russian Federation, Brazil, Nicaragua, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt… On the exhibitors' side, developers, architects, local authorities, consultants, brokers and construction groups from 25 fast growing countries will display hundreds of amazing projects in the fast growing regions. A vast range of long-term investment opportunities for the 3,000 real estate professionals, including 500 investors, expected to attend the first MIPIM Horizons. On the visitors' side, institutional investors, property funds, end users, and hotel groups, among others, will come to the event to "shop" for the best opportunities available in these markets.

How do you expect MIPIM Horizons to evolve within the next three years?
We are quite confident that MIPIM Horizons will become a key date for any investor looking for new and promising investment opportunities in fast growing regions. There is a clear need for a specific event tailored for the burgeoning real estate market of these regions.
