Interest in Roisin Murphy's upcoming concert in Warsaw has proved so great that the organizers decided to upgrade to a bigger venue. The Irish vocalist of Moloko fame will now appear Nov. 12 in the Ursynów Arena.

Murphy became a pop icon in the 1990s, and her hits, performed together with Mark Brydon as Moloko, took the charts by storm. Audiences around the world were to be found grooving to the mixture of house, trip hop and funk in songs such as "Sing It Back" or "The Time Is Now." Murphy's distinctive voice and on-stage charisma created a new and spectacular blend of futuristic pop and dance music.

Murphy also became a fashion icon, somewhat comparable to Madonna or Bjork. Moloko's first album was called Do You Like My Tight Sweater? Murphy recorded four albums with Moloko, yet after Statues decided to quit and embark on a solo career.

Apart from her vocal duties with Moloko, Murphy also worked with artists such as Handsome Boy Modeling School and DJ Boris Dlugosch for whom she recorded the club hit "Never Enough." Ruby Blue, her first solo album for the Echo Records label was released in 2005.

This will be Murphy's third concert in Poland this year, after her appearances at the Heineken Open'er Festival in Gdynia and the Stodoła club in Warsaw.

Nov. 12, 8 p.m., Ursynów Arena, 122 Pileckiego St.
