Switch2one Takes Off
November 5, 2008
Article's tools:

Media corporation MTV Networks Polska Oct. 16 launched its first video portal, switch2one.tv (www.s2o.tv), in association with telecommunications operator Netia.

The project comprises four online entertainment TV channels available on video-on-demand (VOD) basis. These are the MTV, VH1 and VIVA music channels, and Comedy Central. Internet users are offered a choice of the best local and international programs, in addition to animated films and series. The programs are available in full versions, and the users may choose image and sound settings. The portal also offers popular music videos. On day one, switch2one.tv offered more than 200 hours of programs and some 7,000 videos.

Unlike many other internet TVs, switch2one.tv offers only entertainment. The project applies advanced TV BOX technology that allows for viewing full-screen images without detracting from quality. Three-dimensional video player navigation is an additional attraction for users. Switch2one.tv is offered for free, available to any user of broadband internet.

The platform was developed by MTV partner Vinci, an Israeli company that produces innovative internet and TV technology. The portal's partner, Netia, has supplied some of the technology solutions.
