Amateur Art From the Mines
November 12, 2008
Article's tools:

Gwarek 58 was one of the many amateur art groups that existed in Silesia in the second half of the 20th century. Such groups existed at nearly all the mines and major factories.

What sets Gwarek apart is a love of graphic expression-nearly all of it members chose linoleum engraving as their medium. The exhibition features artists such as Józef Rockstroch, Rudolf Riedel, Jan Nowak, Franciszek Kurzeja, Alfred Kawa and Aleksander Filipek.
