City Index, a global investment company providing specialized financial services to individual investors, opened an office in Warsaw in early November. City Index is known as one of the largest derivative trading platforms in the world. It offers financial products such as contracts for difference (CFD), forex trading, and spread betting.

The Warsaw office of City Index will provide services to clients in Poland and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe. "We believe that Poland-much as the whole region of Central and Eastern Europe-has huge potential for growth," said Clive Cooke, CEO of the City Index group. "The country's expanding economy and increasingly affluent society explain why it is worth being here. At the same time, the Polish capital market is so developed and the investors are so experienced that exploiting all the advantages of our platform will be no problem to them."

The City Index group transacts over 1.5 million trades per month on behalf of its clients in more than 50 countries. The group employs more than 450 people across the world. Its Warsaw office will ultimately rely on a staff of 30.
