Jewelry Making: Pure Art?
This exhibition, prepared by the jewelry Design Studio of the Fine Arts Academy in Łódź, illustrates the evolution of Poland's artistic jewelry design between 1959 and 2008. The exhibition features 64 artists whose works prove that jewelry is "pure" art on a par with sculpture and painting, the curator says.

Significance of the Sash
This exhibition showcases a collection of sashes that once adorned the kontusz, the traditional robe worn by Polish noblemen in centuries past. The exhibit shows the sash, known as pas kontuszowy, in different contexts and as a constituent of the national attire, illustrating the belt's functions in Polish culture.

The pas kontuszowy played a major role over several centuries, signifying the political views of its wearer and his affinity with a specific political party. During the country's struggle for independence, the sash symbolized patriotism. In the 20th century it became a source of inspiration for designers.
