BASF Construction Chemicals will invest several million euros by the end of this year in a mortar production plant in ¦rem near Poznań, western Poland. It will manufacture repointing mortars, glues for ceramic and stone tiles, industrial glue for energy-saving heating systems and other powdered products.

The plant will be a modern, computer-controlled and highly automated production facility with a planned output of 45,000 tons per year. BASF will employ 40 people in the ¦rem plant and also plans to open a training facility on the site.

BASF is a global chemical manufacturer. The company produces a wide variety of substances from oil and gas, through chemicals and purifying agents to crop protection agents and high-grade chemicals. BASF already operates a production plant in Poland, in My¶lenice near Cracow, where it manufactures cement additives.
