Outsourcing Market on the Rise

More and more Polish companies are delegating some of their business processes to external companies through outsourcing, to save money as well as improve efficiency.

A national study carried out by IPSOS research company for ArchiDoc, a document management and business process outsourcing company, found that outsourcing services are most popular for IT technology and back-office procedures. Among the sectors using outsourcing the most were financial (73 percent of those polled) and automotive (64 percent). During the next two years, spending on outsourcing will grow fastest in the financial and infrastructure sectors (construction and power industry). IPSOS found that the most important factor in deciding whether to outsource is cost (58 percent) and increased efficiency. Cost was most important for trading companies, while efficiency mattered most for infrastructure companies.

The study showed that the biggest benefits of outsourcing include better focus on company core operations (39 percent), more efficient use of time (39 percent), and cost reduction (38 percent). Asked about most frequently outsourced front/back office services, respondents listed managing document archives (49 percent). Infrastructure sector companies mentioned scanning (44 percent), handling of correspondence (33 percent) and printing and mailing (33 percent).
