Although electronic music changes rapidly, some compositions remain popular across the generations. Jean-Michel Jarre's first album, Oxygene, recorded in the 1970s, remains a classic and was re-released this year. The French composer is currently on tour promoting the album. He will perform in Warsaw in the Torwar arena on Dec. 1, the last concert of his tour.

Jarre recorded Oxygene in 1977. It was one of his first albums and brought the composer instant fame and recognition, which have not waned to this day. He made electronic music popular and undeniably influenced its rapid development in the decades to come. Oxygene remains Jarre's most popular album. Over 12 million copies have been sold to date. His second most popular album is Equinoxe.

Jarre released Oxygene 7-13 in 1997. Compositions from the two Oxygene albums make up his tour repertoire. As was the case in the past, his concerts this year have been monumental events that combine music, light and sound. Jarre plays mainly on a theremine, a synthesizer and a laser harp.

Jarre's first live concert was on July 14, 1979, on the Place de la Concorde in Paris to over a million fans. Later on he improved this record when 3.5 million people came to his concert in Moscow in 1987.

In Poland, Jarre's biggest concert to date was his Freedom concert played in the Gdańsk shipyard in 2005 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Solidarity trade union movement. Over 100,000 attended.

Jarre also composed the music for Polish news channel TVP Info, first aired last October.
