An Eye for Beauty

Polish beauty clinics are gaining popularity abroad thanks to high service standards and affordable prices. Warsaw's La Perla is a case in point.

La Perla will soon be marking its 10 years in business but that is not the only reason it has for celebration. It is the only clinic in Poland that offers cosmetic procedures, aesthetic treatment and plastic surgery. Such a wide spectrum of services and the use of the latest medical equipment have placed La Perla at the top of the league of Polish beauty clinics.

"Advanced technological equipment has now removed the need to use a scalpel in many instances," says Kalina Kamińska, the owner of three La Perla clinics. "To place a patient 'under the knife' is the last resort. In most cases non-invasive procedures give fantastic results with regard to making people look younger, thinner and more beautiful."

Kamińska trained in cosmetology and studied art history. She combined these two areas of study into one passion. She has an eye for beauty and a sense for proportion and symmetry in her blood. Kamińska says, "As an alternative to procedures like a surgical facelift, which you can only have done once, I recommend Radiage to my patients. This product is a huge hit in the cosmetology market. Radio waves shorten collagen fibers, the face becomes tighter, and a more youthful look is instantaneous. I recommend a similar procedure for stomach flab after childbirth. The stomach tightens beautifully without stitches, bruises and pain." Radiage is used in plastic surgery. La Perla is the only clinic in Poland that carries out procedures using radio-surgery.

Other cosmetic procedures that can replace the scalpel include Titan, Focus RF, and mezotherapy. Wrinkles disappear for a long time and skin is visibly regenerated. AutoCollagen is extremely popular and only available in La Perla clinics. Cells are taken from a patient from where they are most abundant and then injected into the patient in the areas of the body where they are needed. The cells can be frozen and used even years later to fill in deep wrinkles. Medical lipolysis can improve the contours of the face via injections to dissolve excess fat.

La Perla is also the main representative of the Golden Thread Lift Procedure in Poland. The implantation under the skin of a very fine form of thread keeps the patient looking younger for 10 years. The procedure can be done on the face, neck, cleavage, arms, thighs and stomach.

La Perla also offers a wide range of plastic-surgery procedures. One of these is Macrolane, which can increase breast size by up to two sizes. Similarly for fat removal, the lipolaser method is just as effective as liposuction but without any side effects. Fat can also be removed at La Perla with non-invasive ultrasound systems Bella Contour and Ultra Contour. Creases in the skin, caused by excess fat, can be removed with the help of the Bi-One method, also only used by La Perla in Poland.

"I searched half the globe to find suitable equipment," says Kamińska. "When you want to be up-to-date you have to travel around the world, attend conferences, search for the best solutions, and learn how to use them."

Sometimes patients who have suffered traumas require psychological help. La Perla clinics employ a psychologist to help provide complete patient care.

Patients who have undergone plastic surgery are guaranteed convalescence in the care of doctors and nurses in La Perla's clinic hotel.

The clinic's employees speak at least two languages for the benefit of foreign patients and nearly everyone speaks English.

"We have a huge wealth of knowledge and potential, and this is what distinguishes us from others," says Kamińska. "We offer patients a choice, and this is unusual for plastic-surgery clinics."
