The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra directed by Wil Salden will play at the Sala Kongresowa in Warsaw Dec. 19.

The origins of the orchestra date back to the 1930s. At the time it was a big band led by Glenn Miller, the famous arranger and trombone player. After his death in 1944, Tex Beneke, his closest friend, decided to continue playing under the name The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra was made famous not only by such timeless classics as "Moonlight Serenade," "Tuxedo Junction," "Chattanooga Choo Choo," and "I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo," but also by its collaborations with celebrities like Frank Sinatra, Johnny Desmond, and Eric Delaney.

Dec. 19, 8 p.m., Sala Kongresowa, 1 Defilad Sq.
