Poland is an attractive country for foreign professionals, but settling here requires professional help as well. Without it you may encounter some problems.

You must remember you will have to fulfill a number of conditions before settling down and starting to work in Poland. Unless your employing company uses a professional relocation firm, you will have no idea of what to do and when.

For expatriates who want to work in Poland information given below is vital to save time and money. It is preferable to start the preparation before arriving in Poland. As you need to proof your education level, look for your diploma you might not have seen for the last 20 years. Check your passport, which has to be valid for at least one year. DoesnŐt matter of which nationality you are, you will have to apply for a work visa (based on work permit promise issued by the Polish authorities) in your country of origin or of permanent residence.

After 90-days stay, you are required to have a residence card, which involves applying another office. Remember that every office deals with only one issue and even then unwillingly. Contacts with Polish administration are not always pleasant and are stressful even for Poles.

Last but not least, when you move to Poland for a longer period of time and bring your personal belongings, you need to go through customs. DonŐt forget it is possible only when you already have your final work permit which takes from four to six weeks. There are many details that if known ahead of time would not create a problem. Specialized relocation companies handle these headaches for you and will take their clients through the whole procedure painlessly.
