Deficit in 2011 may be below 5.6% of GDP: official

Ludwik Kotecki
Poland’s public finance sector deficit in 2011 could turn out to be lower than the 5.6% of GDP forecast by the government, and is expected to fall to below 3% of GDP this year, deputy Finance Minister Ludwik Kotecki said.
"The public finance sector deficit in 2011 will not be higher than 5.6% of GDP,” Kotecki told the PAP news agency in an interview. “Our forecast... is cautious. There is a chance that the result will be better."
"We want to lower the public finance sector deficit to below 3% of GDP in 2012,” he added.
