Piotr i Pawe³ Moving to Pabianice Mall

A Piotr i Pawe³ store selling groceries and household appliances is to open in the Echo mall in the central city of Pabianice in spring.

Piotr i Pawe³ has signed a lease contract for over 3,000 sq m. The previous contract with the Carrefour hypermarket at the shopping center was terminated after the Competition and Consumer Protection Office ruled that Carrefour had too much share of the market. Carrefour then had to close its store at the mall.

The Echo shopping center on Zamkowa Street in Pabianice has almost 50 stores occupying almost 16,000 sq m as well as 600 parking spaces. The center opened in 2002.

Piotr i Pawe³, established in 1990, is a family company based in Poznañ. It runs almost 50 stores in over 30 cities around Poland.

Port £ód¼ Gains New Tenants

The list of tenants at the Port £ód¼ retail center, a project by investor and developer Inter Ikea Centre Polska, part of the Ikea Group, has grown to include stores including Euro RTV AGD, Deichmann, Humanic, Bata, Sizeer, Adidas, Venezia, Lee Wrangler and Umbro.

The 127,000 sq m retail center, which is to open in spring 2010, will house more than 200 stores including an Ikea store of 33,000 sq m , a Leroy Merlin home improvement store, and an Alma delicatessen. The complex will also have a 7,000 sq m entertainment area.

Port £ód¼ is Inter Ikea Centre Polska's seventh project in Poland. The company, which builds Ikea centers, is owned by the Ikea group and has been in Poland since 1988.

Cushman & Wakefield's retail space department and Inter Ikea Polska's lease department are working together to find tenants for Port £ód¼.
