Textiles are not just a material that meets basic human needs. From the very beginning they have inspired people to be creative and come up with new artistic ideas. The wealth of meanings and emotions expressed by textiles adds beauty and value to the world around us.

Combining an artistic perception of reality with textile manufacturing technology has been a trend practiced for many years by artists, technologists and students at the Institute of Textile Architecture of the Technical University of £ód¼ in central Poland. Their works, showcased at an exhibition entitled Textile Architecture, reveal many features of their personalities and testify to their special ways of processing different materials and techniques into a concrete artistic form.
