Lithuanian pianist Muza Rubackyte will be playing with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) from Vilnius at Warsaw's National Philharmonic Jan. 24. The program will feature Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto in B-flat minor op. 23, Scriabin's Third Symphony in C-minor op. 43, and the recently composed symphonic poem Tetra by Lithuanian composer Osvaldas Balakauskas.

Rubackyte teaches classical piano in Vilnius, Paris and Moscow.

The LNSO was founded in 1940 and has continued as the leading orchestra in the country ever since. Juozas Domarkas has served as artistic director and chief conductor since 1964. The widely acclaimed Domarkas was awarded the Cavalier's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland for his work in "developing cultural contacts between Poland and Lithuania" by Polish President Lech Kaczyński in 2006.
