Good Year for Expo Center
February 4, 2009
Article's tools:

7.3 million zloty was Casinos Poland's net profit for 2008. This is the company's best result in its 20-year history and is 151 percent up on 2007. Casinos Poland has 50 percent of the Polish casino market.

2008 was another successful year for the EXPO XXI Warsaw International Expocenter. EXPO XXI staged 39 trade fairs, which attracted almost 300,000 visitors and 5,500 exhibitors from Poland and other countries.

The most popular with visitors was the Perspektywy International Education Exhibition that attracted 50,000 people, and the Wind and Water Sports and Recreation Fair, visited by 25,000 people. The Green Is Life fair and the Automaticon International Automation and Measurement Fair came third and fourth in terms of visitor numbers. "Last year proved again that exhibitions are a perfect marketing tool, that they enjoy unfading interest among both domestic and foreign organizers and exhibitors, and that our EXPO XXI is one of the most important exhibition and conference centers in this country," says Żaneta Berus, managing director at EXPO XXI.

The exhibition sector, in contrast to manufacturing and services, is less prone to crisis. Since fairs are planned a few years in advance, sudden changes in economic conditions do not have an impact on exhibition calendars. Additionally, an exhibition is still the cheapest way to reach prospective customers, something which has been appreciated by a growing number of businesses. At least 33 trade fairs and dozens of other events will be held at EXPO XXI this year.

The construction of a fourth exhibition pavilion at EXPO XXI is scheduled for completion in the middle of the year. After the new pavilion is opened, EXPO XXI will have over 17,000 sq m of total space. It will become the largest and most modern exhibition and conference center in Warsaw. EXPO XXI Warsaw International Expocenter, at 12/14 Prądzyńskiego St., opened in 2001.
