The Intelligent Home is Here

Article's tools:

When an owner builds a house, he aims to make sure it is comfortable and adjusted to his needs. Why not take things a step further and create a home that will check whether we have turned the lights off and closed the windows? When we come home, it will greet us, turning the light on at the garage gate and opening the door. It will make a coffee, put our favorite music on and switch on the lights to create a restful ambiance. This is not science fiction-such a home is possible owing new technology.

A model intelligent home controlled by a computer program has been created by Luxmat, a company designing lighting systems based on the Luxmat V8tech MMC (Multi Media Control) system. You can see it on Emaliowa Street in Warsaw. This is a home that uses state-of-the-art technology.

The living room has three light colors available, blue, yellow and red. Each of these can be adjusted individually, so the room's mood can be changed, for example, to match your mood.

The bedroom features the latest LED technology. There is a TV set in a wall recess, with the Linearlight FLEX RGB strip system behind it. The result is similar to the Ambilight effect ensuring a more vivid viewing experience, similar to that in a movie theater. A similar system is used for the TV in the living room. With the control panel, you can turn the bedroom into a home theater with just one push of button. The system shuts the window blinds, turns the appropriate lights and air-conditioning on, and raises the bed's headrests.

The kitchen also features LED lighting. Single LEDs under the countertop accentuate its structure. The arching wall contains lines of halogen lamps that provide equal lighting in all parts of the kitchen.

The system controls not only the lights, but also all the electronic devices installed in this intelligent home - from the entrance gate, the door and windows, to the oven and coffee machine. It can be programmed so that when you walk into the house, a cup of hot coffee will be waiting for you. The system is controlled from a panel with a touchscreen and it can be hung on the wall or carried around in a casing. The system can also be controlled over the internet and mobile phone, for example, when you are driving home. With this system, you can monitor what is going on at home at any time, from any place with internet access.
