Girls Against Boys

Girls Against Boys will play at Warsaw's Hard Rock Café Feb. 17. The band was formed in 1988 and went on to make a huge contribution to the post-hard rock scene of the 1990s with their unique blend of indie and post-hardcore.

The standout feature of Girls Against Boys is their two bass guitarists, a rare experiment in the world of rock bands. The band's second album Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby made people sit up and take notice. The excellent Cruise Yourself (1994) and House of GVSB (1996) followed along with several singles, all recorded on the indie Touch and Go label. They switched to the major Geffen label in 1998 for Freak-on-Ica. Girls Against Boys have not put out anything since 2002's You Can't Fight What You Can't See for Jade Tree Records.

Feb. 17, 9 p.m., Hard Rock Café, 59 Złota St.
