A new venture capital fund called Helix Ventures Partners plans to invest zl.40 million in innovative projects in Poland.

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority issued an operating permit for Helix Ventures Partners in late January.

Helix Ventures Partners is a closed-ended investment fund managed by MCI Capital TFI SA. "Helix Ventures Partners will be investing in projects at their early stages," said Małgorzata Walczak, who manages the fund.

Under its strategy, the fund will invest in projects associated with the internet, software, mobile technologies and electronics.

"The launch of Helix Ventures Partners is part of the development strategy of MCI Group," said Tomasz Czechowicz, managing partner at MCI Group. "Our objective is to set up dedicated funds together with other investment partners. At a time when the situation on the capital market is difficult, venture capital funds are becoming an excellent alternative for funding projects in the Polish economy."
