Minnesota jazz trio The Bad Plus are coming to Warsaw for one gig only at the Fabryka Trzciny Arts Center Feb. 22. They will also be performing at the Klub Zak in Gdańsk Feb. 21 and ParaDam in Katowice Feb. 23.

Vocalist Wendy Lewis, who features on the band's latest album For All I Care (2008) will be teaming up with pianist Ethan Iverson, bassist Reid Anderson and drummer David King for the tour.

For All I Care is a departure from the band's previous three albums, not only because it features a vocalist but because the tracks are interpretations of classical, country, pop and rock tunes. Stravinsky and Ligeti have been juxtaposed alongside K.D. Lang, the Bee Gees, Nirvana, Pink Floyd and Yes.

But is it jazz? "This is still music in The Bad Plus style," said King when presenting the band's latest album. "We were just fortunate enough to have a fantastic vocalist."
