Renowned U.S. pianist Kevin Kenner is coming to Warsaw for a recital at the Wielki Theater Feb. 22.

Kenner first came to Warsaw in 1980, aged 17, to take part in the International Chopin Piano competition. He came back ten years later and won the second prize (the first prize was not handed out) and the Polonaise Prize. Earlier that year he won the bronze medal at the International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, together with a special prize for his interpretation of Russian music.

Kenner has shared the stage with conductors of the caliber of Kazimierz Kord, Charles Groves, Stanis³aw Skrowaczewski, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Hans Vonk and Andrew Davis. Kenner has played alongside many orchestras, including the Hallé Orchestra and the Warsaw Philharmonic.
