The -i-r laboratory at the Center for Contemporary Art (CSW) in Warsaw and nkd (Nordic Artists' Center) in Dale, Norway have started a two-year project for designers and artists, called Rooted Design for Routed Living. Alternative Design Strategies. It involves two teams, one from Poland which will work in Norway, and one from Norway, which will come to Poland. The two teams will spend at least two months going on creative trips, during which they will explore the nature of contemporary creative work, local traditions in the design and use of objects and space, and seek concrete ideas for the perfect art studio and for creativity centers for artists.

The project will continue through the end 2010, when its findings will be shown in exhibitions at the CSW and nkd. This March, the CSW will hold Polish-Norwegian workshops as part of the project, conducted by project leaders Tomek Rygalik and Oscar Narud.
