British violinist Nigel Kennedy, known as the bad boy of classical music, will play Jimi Hendrix hits at Warsaw's Stodoła Club on March 12 accompanied by Polish jazz guitarist Jarosław ¦mietana.

During the "Jimi Lives!" part of the concert, the two will perform their own renditions of such Hendrix hits as "Cross Town Traffic," "Purple Haze" and "Hey Joe." The concert will also be the world premier of a piece by Kennedy inspired by Hendrix's "1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)." Wojciech Karolak on Hammond organ, double-bass player and bass-guitarist Adam Kowalewski and Krzysztof Dziedzic on drums will support Kennedy and ¦mietana during the concert.

Kennedy is immensely popular in Poland. He lives in Cracow, has a Polish wife and has played with the Cracow Philharmonic and the Polish Chamber Orchestra.

March 12, 7 p.m., Stodoła Club, 10 Batorego St.
