The 23rd Metalmania festival, originally planned for March 7 at the Spodek arena in Katowice, will be held at Warsaw's Stodoła club instead. Metalmania Fest 2009 will feature bands such as Soulfly, Exodus, Overkill and Heaven Shall Burn.Soulfly, a group headed by Max Cavalera since 1997, will be promoting their Conquer album. Soulfly is one of those metal bands that contributed to the metal genre's revival in the late 1990s. Conquer is the band's sixth album.U.S. band Exodus was set up in 1980 in San Francisco by guitarist Gary Holt, vocalist and drummer Tom Hunting and current Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett.Heaven Shall Burn, a German band that is one of the top groups on today's metal/deathcore scene, was established in 1996 under the name Consense. The album Iconoclast (Part 1: The Final Resistance), released this year, is the group's fifth studio record.
