The Kolnoa 1st Israeli Film Festival will be held April 2-5 in Warsaw's Kinoteka movie theater.

Daniel Strehlau, head of the Foundation for the Development of Jewish Culture in Poland and the festival's organizer, says the event will include over a dozen Israeli films. These will include Restless, which was nominated for the Golden Bear award in Berlin last year, and Lemon Tree, which won the audience award at the 2008 Berlin film festival.

Strehlau is a director and screenwriter, and the head of the Warsaw Jewish Film Festival, which was launched in November 2003. Recently he decided to create a festival of Israeli films, showcasing movies that are not necessarily linked with Jewish issues.

The festival will also feature a Palestinian Cinema Day, during which Salt of the Sea, a Palestinian film nominated for an Academy Award, will be shown.
