International exhibitors from the hotel/restaurant/catering (HoReCa) industry took part in the EuroGastro trade fair held at the MT Polska Exhibition and Convention Center in Warsaw March 25-27.

EuroGastro is a major hotel/restaurant/catering trade fair in Poland that regularly attracts large numbers of both domestic and foreign exhibitors. The event enables visitors to compare restaurant and hotel products and services, and makes it possible for them to learn about the latest developments in the industry. Despite its dynamic growth over the past several years, due to the international economic crisis the HoReCa sector will have to deal with a number of challenges in the near future, according to wholesaler Makro Cash & Carry. The company's research shows that Poland's HoReCa market grew 7.1 percent last year over 2007, with the Warsaw market growing a whopping 13.6 percent and accounting for 21 percent of the overall HoReCa market nationwide. However, the first quarter of this year brought a significant slowdown in the market's growth to just 1.5-2 percent nationwide, Makro experts say.

Poland's next HoReCa exhibition, Food-to-Go, will be held in Cracow June 17-18. It will target small food outlets and takeout providers.
