A military aircraft crashed March 31 in the Polish navy airfield of Babie Doły near the coastal city of Gdynia. The four pilots were killed on the spot after the plane hit the tarmac and caught fire. The plane had approached the runway after a routine training flight during which the pilots practiced landing with one engine.

The Military Prosecutor's Office in Poznań is investigating the case. The Military Commission for Air Accidents is also probing the cause of the crash.

The aircraft, an M-28 Bryza-a light aircraft used for transport and reconnaissance purposes-belonged to the navy's air brigade. The crew of the aircraft, if used in navy service, is made up six people.
