Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will take part in commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II to be held Sept. 1 in Poland's coastal city of Gdańsk. During a recent telephone conversation with his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk, the two heads of government also agreed that the Polish-Russian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation would meet soon. The date of the meeting has not been decided yet.

Putin and Tusk met in January in Davos during the World Economic Forum. While in Davos, Tusk invited Putin to visit Poland.

The Polish-Russian intergovernmental commission held its last meeting on March 10-11 in Warsaw. The list of topics discussed included cooperation in the field of energy, Polish food exports to Russia and stability in Russian gas supplies to Poland.
