New York Polish Film Festival
The New York Polish Film Festival, the largest annual event promoting Polish cinema on the East Coast of the United States, starts this year on May 5. Films will be screened at the Anthology Film Archives and the Museum of Modern Art.
This year’s festival, the fifth to be held, will feature films including Four Nights With Anna by Jerzy Skolimowski, 0_1_0 by Piotr Łazarkiewicz, The Offsiders by Kasia Adamik, Drowsiness by Magdalena Piekorz, Absolute Beginners by Piotr Szczepański and Mr. Kuka’s Advice by Dariusz Gajewski. Apart from feature and short films, the festival will include a review of Polish documentaries and films made in countries of the former eastern bloc.
Receptions, meetings with filmmakers and other accompanying events will be held during the festival. As in previous years, audiences have an opportunity to meet with filmmakers and artists.
