The Embassy Festival 2009 is a new initiative by students of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) that is sure to find a permanent place in the diary of Warsaw’s student events.

The main objectives that the organizers have set themselves include giving students the chance to meet top diplomats from around the world, highlighting job opportunities in foreign companies, international organizations and diplomatic missions, and providing an insight into how the global economy and politics work.

The festival is being held for the first time but is planned as a regular event. It will be held in two stages. The first will be the Embassy Fair on Wednesday, May 20, in the Spadochronowa Auditorium in the School’s main building. This is where embassy officials will be out in force, informing students of any traineeships or jobs available at diplomatic missions. The fair will also include attractions such as dance shows or cooking workshops.

The second part of the festival, meetings with guests from the diplomatic corps on May 21-22, will feature a series of lectures, conferences and meetings with embassy officials. These will be held in the conference rooms and classrooms of the School at 162 Niepodległo¶ci Ave.
