Warsaw's Porta 13 restaurant at 13 Chmielna St. is the venue for a recently opened exhibition of paintings by Agnieszka Szyfter called Unforgettable Moments, inspired by her trip to the island of Mauritius. The artist's works will be on display there until Aug. 20.

Szyfter is a contemporary artist whose work is gaining recognition in the United States, Europe and Asia. Her latest collection traces the emotions of the contemporary woman, this time a resident of an exotic island where many communities representing different cultures live together in harmony. Her paintings are charged with energy. The artist often portrays issues we tend to forget in our constant haste.

Szyfter paints in oils and acrylics as well as creating digital graphics, illustrations and drawings. She lives and works in Warsaw. Her paintings have been shown in Manhattan next to works by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Henry Matisse and Marc Chagall. She has exhibited her works in Poland, the United States, China and Mauritius.
