ABB to Build Second Factory

The ABB group, a leading global provider of technology for power and automatic control engineering, will build a second new factory in Poland. The facility will produce power electronics devices for power supply systems used in industrial appliances.

ABB will invest a total of zl.59 million in the new factory and create 72 new jobs. The facility will produce medium-voltage converters and power supply systems. Design work is under way and construction is scheduled to begin in June. The project will be completed in around 12 months.

This will be the latest ABB project in the £ód¼ Special Economic Zone in central Poland after an engine factory that is under construction and scheduled for completion in June. To date, ABB has invested zl.121 million in the zone, providing jobs for 200 people.

The ABB group has a work force of 110,000 in more than 100 countries. In Poland, the company has factories in £ód¼, Przasnysz and Wroc³aw, with a total of 2,300 staff.
