Goodman Completes Project for DHL

Article's tools:

Goodman, an integrated property group that owns, develops and manages business and logistics space globally, June 3 announced the completion of a 21,800-square-meter logistics facility for DHL Supply Chain in Racibórz, Poland.

As part of the project, Goodman acquired a 6.3-hectare site, together with DHL Supply Chain's existing 9,400 sq m warehouse and 3,159 sq m office block in a sale-and-leaseback operation. Next to the existing warehouse, Goodman developed a new, built-to-suit 9,200 sq m extension which is also 100 percent leased to DHL Supply Chain.

The logistics facility is located 1.5 km from Racibórz, in the southwestern part of the Silesia province. The site is just 28 km from Ostrava, Czech Republic, and 43 km from the A4 intersection with the city of Gliwice, leading west to Wroc³aw and Germany and east to Katowice and Cracow, and eventually to the Ukrainian border.

Completion of the project is a further extension of the global partnership that Goodman has with DHL, by providing it with a flexible and integrated "property solution" that responds to their business and logistics needs. Construction of the additional warehouse started in October 2008 and finished in February 2009, three weeks earlier than originally planned.

According to Goodman executives, the DHL Supply Chain warehouse demonstrates Goodman's commitment and ongoing interest in Poland where it already owns and manages a number of successful projects through its Goodman European Logistics Fund. The company also has a range of investments elsewhere in Central Europe, including a 150,000 sq m logistics center in Slovakia and a 26,000 sq m built-to-suit facility under construction in Hungary.

Goodman Group is an integrated property group with operations throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe. In Europe, Goodman has offices in Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.

DHL Supply Chain is part of the Deutsche Post DHL Group with combined revenues in excess of 55 billion euros and 500,000 employees globally.
