The Multimedia Polska company has won an award for its Video on Demand (VoD) service in this year's Teraz Polska (Poland Now) nationwide competition held under the auspices of President Lech Kaczyński.

Multimedia Polska, which was singled out for praise in the Innovation Project category, received a special Poland Now emblem that it will be able to use over the next 12 months while promoting its VoD service.

The annual Teraz Polska competition is designed to promote the country's best brands. The winners of the latest, 19th, competition were announced during an awards ceremony at the Wielki Theater in Warsaw in early June. The competition judges chose 34 winners in four categories out of a total of 125 nominees.

VoD is an innovative service that offers access to an archive of films and programs. Multimedia Polska says the service can be compared to a video rental shop with 24/7 access, without the need to leave home. All users of Multimedia Polska's digital cable TV service have access to VoD.

Multimedia Polska is a major Polish provider of the Triple Play service, or a package of TV, broadband internet and fixed-line telephone services. It was the first operator to launch the HDTV high-resolution digital cable television service in this country. It is also the only Polish operator to offer its clients the VoD service with no extra fee.
