Air Acrobatics Wow Crowds

Thousands flocked to see breathtaking aerial maneuvers at the International Air Picnic on the first weekend in June in Góraszka near Warsaw.

Among the highlights were a Bell TAH-1F Cobra helicopter and a gravity-defying aerobatics display performed by Jurgis Kairys in an Su-31 plane.

The climax of the air show was a fly-past by a MiG-29 Fulcrum aircraft which thundered just a few dozen meters above the Góraszka airstrip with the throttle fully open. Viewers also marveled at aircraft such as a Supermarine Spitfire VIII, Messerschmitt Bf-109 G6, Extra-300L, Boeing Stearman PT-17 Kaydet and a PZL M28 Skytruck. The latter first took skydivers up and then showed what it could do in the air.
