The State Museum of Archeology in Warsaw has opened a new permanent exhibition entitled Time and the River. The Liwiec Valley at the Close of Antiquity. The exhibition sums up many years of archeological research the museum carried out in the valley of the Liwiec River east of Warsaw. In the 1960s the museum started extensive excavations at sites dating from the 2nd century B.C. to the early 5th century of our era, and the project continues to this day. Large burial grounds in the valley have delivered a lot of valuable information about the people who used to live there and brought to light a wealth of spectacular artifacts.

The exhibition at the State Museum of Archeology features a selection of 400 items found at the excavation sites, including gold, silver, bronze, glass and amber ornaments, iron tools, iron and bronze pieces of weaponry, clay vessels and objects that merchants brought from the Roman Empire.

The exhibition is in Polish and English.
