With 46 days to go until Euro 2012 football tournament kicks off, the design for the tickets was revealed on Monday at the National Stadium in Warsaw, the venue for the opening match between Poland and Greece on June 8.
The ceremony was attended by Poland's UEFA EURO 2012 director Adam Olkowicz as well as the tournament’s Polish ambassadors Zbigniew Boniek and Andrzej Szarmach along with two young winners of Poland's drawing competition.
The ticket is horizontal with a large flower on the front, the leaves of which depict the stadium hosting a match and the flags of the two countries involved. The number of the match appears in a flower bud, with seat details also printed on the front.
Most of the tickets for the tournament have now sold out according to Pedro Correia – head of ticketing and planning at European football’s governing body UEFA.
Football fans interested in matches to be staged in Ukraine will get last chance to purchase tickets next month.
“About 50,000 tickets will be on sale from the beginning of May, because not all participating federations have taken their full allocation, ” Correia said.
Poland will host Euro 2012 championships along with Ukraine between June 8 and July 1.
