Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, one of the most famous opera singers of all time, will give a concert at the Gwardii Stadium in Warsaw Aug. 29.

The venue, normally used as a dirt bike track and a soccer pitch, will turn into an outdoor opera for that special night. Bocelli will be accompanied by a choir and a symphony orchestra.

Since 1996, Bocelli has released 16 albums which, thanks to his phenomenal voice, have sold almost 65 million copies. His most recent album came out last fall and featured some of the finest tenor parts written in the 20th century, including “Funiculì Funicula,” “Un amore così grande,” “Mamma,” and “Santa Lucia.” The album marked Bocelli’s 50th birthday.

The Warsaw concert is planned for around 10,000 viewers. The organizers will install seats and three large screens for better viewing.
